मॉरीशस के रहने वाले Akshay Seebaluck ने पिछले महीने अफ़ग़ानिस्तान में रहकर जो पेंटिंग्स बनाईं हैं उनकी एक प्रदर्शनी इन दिनों नई दिल्ली की ललित कला अकादमी में चल रही है। कुशल चित्रकार अक्षय क़रीब 5 हफ्ते अफ़ग़ानिस्तान के अलग अलग शहरों और छोटे क़स्बों में रहे और वहां आज के जीवन को नज़दीक से देखा और जो पाया उन्होंने अपने चित्रों में बनाया।
हाल के वर्षों में अफ़ग़ानिस्तान की जो छवि हमारे दिमाग़ों में बैठाई गयी है, अक्षय की छवियाँ उसके उलट कहानी कहती हैं। अक्षय ने अपनी यात्रा की बहुत तस्वीरें हमारे साथ साझा कीं और आज शाम उनसे एक छोटी सी बातचीत भी मैंने रिकॉर्ड की जो इस रिपोर्ट में सुनी जा सकती है।
Currently on display at the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi is an exhibition showcasing the recent works of Akshay Seebaluck, a Mauritian artist who spent the past month living in Afghanistan.
As a highly skilled painter, Akshay immersed himself in the diverse cities and small towns of Afghanistan for approximately five weeks, closely observing the contemporary life there. His paintings vividly capture the essence of his experiences and present a narrative that contradicts the prevailing image of Afghanistan in recent years.
In contrast to the perceptions ingrained in our minds, Akshay's artwork offers a fresh perspective on the country, showcasing the nuanced realities he encountered during his stay. Through a series of images, Akshay paints a compelling portrait of Afghanistan, challenging stereotypes and shedding light on the multifaceted aspects of its current existence.
