Om Puri was a renowned Indian actor who appeared in numerous films and worked with various directors throughout his career. With Satyajit Ray he did Sadgati (1981) which was based on a short story by Munshi Premchand of this title only.
A month after Satyajit Ray's demise a memorial meeting was held in New Delhi 1992 by Sangeet Natak Akademi and National School of Drama.
